Motel 6 Sacramento, CA - Downtown

A renovation seems overdue. The shower leaked badly, apparently through the walls, and there was no tub, fridge, or microwave, which made the room feel sad. I saw about one roach a day, more than I could accept. Most staff made me feel as if I was bothering them; only one man was kind, working between 3-5pm on 11-9-25. The maids were nice, but I had to wait until they'd finished washing and drying before they could give me all my towels and linens.

Sonia, I hope I spelled that right, was incredibly attentive and friendly. She kindly made sure I had everything I needed to be comfortable, and that really improved the stay. Treat customer service reps with kindness and you get it back.

The room was very clean, but pretty snug with little room to move around, and there was no hair dryer. I had to drive home with wet hair in the cold early morning air. They do offer free pet services for our service dog and gave us the military discount. The bigger problem was the reservation: I wanted to cancel a booking at another motel 6 and stay at this one. A young man with big black rimmed glasses assured me he'd take care of canceling it. On my way home to Mississippi, I found my account had been charged 97. Something Dollars for that room. I'm pissed and very disappointed with the service.

Getting checked in was quick and easy, and the staff seemed in a decent mood. The room was another story: there was what looked like mold all over the air filter and at the top of the wall, which seems dangerous and could make someone sick. The shower floor had odd stuff on it even though nobody had used it yet. The location has an ihop and other food places within walking distance, but there's a lot of homelessness, including people selling drugs or sleeping near the motel. Parking is tight, and I wouldn't call the area very safe for kids.
