We come here a few times a year to visit family who live ten minutes away, and this hotel has been great every time. It's clean, feels safe, and has what we need. We watch our budget and like buying groceries and cooking to eat healthy and save money, and the hotel works well for that. Our King room was quiet and restful. The gated parking feels safe, we've never worried about the car, and the price is reasonable for Sacramento. The front desk folks are kind and easygoing, the custodians are courteous and helpful, and the other guests have been good people, including families, couples, and business travelers. Breakfast has plenty of choices: hard boiled eggs, cooked egg options, waffles, oatmeal and toppings, milk, and yogurt. I'd like to see fresh vegetables and more fresh fruit if possible. The gym is great, with a Peloton, clean space, towels, and lights you can dim or brighten. The pool is chilly and nothing special, with no jacuzzi, but it might be nice on a hot day. There are lounges and chairs, and towels right there. The King bed in our fourth-floor disabled room sank a lot on one side and may need a new mattress or some adjustment. Aside from that, we'll book here whenever we're in Sac.

I've stayed at countless hotels, but this Hilton property has given me two bad experiences in a row, and I won't return. First, the pillows smelled so foul the room was unbearable. I asked three different staff members for replacement pillows or cases and got none, so I eventually had to change rooms. They promised Hilton Honors points for the trouble, but none ever appeared. The more recent problem was worse. I booked over a month ahead, checked in online the day before, and had a confirmed room number. While I was on the plane, the front desk left a voicemail saying they had given away that room and had none left for me. Their answer was to send me to another property, as if my plans didn't matter. My Hilton account now labels it a “Late Cancellation,” making it look like I canceled when the hotel did. I complained to Hilton corporate and got a weak apology email and 35K Hilton Honors points, which doesn't make up for the ruined plans or mishandling. This place is either badly managed or doesn't care about guests. If you value reliability, professionalism, or basic respect as a paying customer, avoid it. I'll take my business to brands that honor reservations and treat guests properly.

The two-bed suite was roomy, with a well laid out bathroom and lots of breakfast choices. There were plenty of luggage racks, so we never had to wait for one. We did need to ask to change to a two-bed room when we arrived.

The free breakfast was tasty, and the newer hotel has a small kitchen with a full-size fridge and dishwasher. It's right by the light rail, which can bring noise and some unsavory wanderers, but there are gates and it stayed pretty quiet.
