Hampton Inn & Suites Sacramento at Csus

The front desk person was very nice and helpful, and our room was spotless. The problem came at breakfast. I hadn't realized it ended at 10, so I arrived about a minute before closing while trying to get food for my kids. The man clearing everything away was very rude. I understand there was a closing time, but his attitude mattered. I only managed to get two muffins for myself because he was so mad. Once we sat down with what we could grab, I noticed employees walking past with plates full of food, lol. I chose this hotel because on my previous trip to Sacramento I had a great stay at a different Hampton location.

The front desk staff were amazing, but the security guard's behavior left me wondering whether he treats guests of color this way. My husband and the guard acknowledged each other as they passed. Later, when my husband went to the car to smoke a cigarette and talk on the phone, the guard shone his light straight into his face. My husband said he didn't need to shine it in his face. Then the guard followed us to our room, as if my husband didn't belong at the hotel. Top Flight Security Of The World (IYKYK) may be there to protect guests, but that wasn't my experience. Where were his antennas when a homeless guy jumped out of the bushes by the entrance, looked at me, and ran? I'm the reason most of the guests were staying at this hotel for an event on campus. Don't be sorry, be careful! Lol. I'll rethink staying here the next time I have an event nearby.

The room was really clean and quiet, and breakfast was great. The cook was super friendly and accommodating, and made my daughter's day. There were fruit flies buzzing around inside the bread case, though, which kind of put me off it. The staff on duty when I checked in could have been a little friendlier. The two who came on afterward were awesome.

I'm a Diamond Member, but their loyalty didn't seem to count for much. After staying three nights, I asked the masked front desk woman for one bottle of water. She asked my room number and whether I'd received water at check-in. I said yes, then politely asked if I could have just one more. She told me the check-in bottle was all I got. I walked away saying I'd remember their hospitality. If I'd checked out and back in, wouldn't I have gotten water each day? This all made the stay less than pleasant. One good review might be worth a lot of money, but to me this bad one cost them a bottle of water. I hope they change. I don't like leaving a bad review, but nothing gets fixed if you don't speak up. My flight was late, so I arrived very late for check-in. The front door was locked and I had to wait to get in. The woman who checked me in was nice. When I went to shower, there was no shampoo. They say they clean the room every other day, but that didn't happen at this hotel.
