I visited a family member here last night and was appalled by the hotel's condition. We stayed by my car the whole time because I didn't feel safe leaving it alone. The place was filthy beyond anything I'd seen, and the smell of drug use was overwhelming. I wouldn't trust many of the people I saw. A few times, people I took to be sex workers and drug dealers approached us while we stood by the car. I checked this place on seven booking sites, and the reviews were all alike, with the same lame responses from the owner or management. I have friends in local government, met with a couple today, and showed them printed reviews and guest photos. They were appalled too. Many criminal and health code complaints and violations were filed with the proper agencies today. I was told that soon officials would serve the owners paperwork, giving them 60 days to meet code and other requirements to stay open. Otherwise, the county or state could take over, and the hotel could be renovated into housing for homeless people, as has happened to other Sacramento area hotels that failed to comply and operate properly.
The room was filthy, the walls were scratched up, and the chair was broken. Dogs in other rooms barked loudly in the middle of the night. Worst hotel I've stayed at.
The room needs proper cleaning and a lot of maintenance. The bathroom wasn't cleaned well, if at all, and the shower drain was clogged with lots of hair. The sink wouldn't drain, its faucet was broken, and I couldn't get hot water from it. The bathroom door was badly damaged and held together with a pile of screws. There were nasty stains on the inside of the front door and on all the wall plates. The AC and heater didn't work well enough to make the room comfortable. The small fridge didn't look clean either. I'm not sure whether there's room service. At least I haven't seen any cockroaches yet, but I don't know if I'll stay again.
The owners and management were polite and took care of what little I needed. The soda machine gave me a drink I hadn't chosen, and they refunded my $1.50 while letting me keep it. A couple of the housekeepers are pretty hot, too.
A decent little corner nook in a roadside hotel and suites, at a rugged crossing just off the freeway.
