WHOLE Family - Rosemont - Hostel

The Water room had really nice decor, and I liked the place’s Water, Wind, Fire, Earth theme. But because it’s upstairs, it doesn’t cool down well. The A/C didn’t work upstairs, and the room only got to 78 degrees at the coolest during the afternoon. Whole family said it was because people left the windows open, but we kept ours closed and it was still very warm. Sleeping was difficult. The place was filthy too. Guests are expected to clean up after themselves, but all that’s provided is a broom and dustpan. The floors felt disgusting, there was a weird smell, and the bathroom had some kind of mold with no cleaning supplies available. I did the best I could to clean it. During our stay, a guest was attacked by a former resident on meth who had found his way into the residence. The guest was moved, police were called, and everyone was reminded not to open the door to strangers. The people we met were otherwise very friendly. I was counting down until checkout.

The neighborhood is great, with shopping close by, and the place felt peaceful and comfortable. The owner is usually out of the way but still available when guests need something. It really felt like home, and had everything I could ask for in a place to rest. Thanks for everything.

I paid around $60 for a room and completed the paperwork, but when I arrived I needed a code to get through the front door. They texted that they’d send it with a video, but neither ever came. I spent the night in my car outside the house, in the cold. Could’ve done that for free.

The hostel was clean, well located, and a great price. Victoria kept in touch and made the trip a good one. She was also really helpful when I needed to book at the last minute. Thanks, Victoria.
