Quality Inn Eastland I-20

I was exhausted and stopped at the fire place off the highway. What a find. The rooms have just been remodeled, and once you’re inside, it feels like a Marriott. Don’t let the outside put you off. Breakfast was surprisingly terrific, and the price is hard to beat. You definitely get your money’s worth here.

The front desk girl was awesome and helped me a lot. The room’s price was ridiculous for its condition, and I was very dissatisfied. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom, yellow stains on the comforter, and something splattered on the outside of the mini fridge. Breakfast sucked and the orange juice machine was broken. At least the AC blew cold.

It was okay for one night, but I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re desperate. The room looked much better in the photos, and the whole place felt tired and run-down, like management was cutting corners. The bed felt decades old and the pillows were flat. In the bathroom, water pressure was barely a trickle, and the hot water was lukewarm at best. Staff weren’t rude, but they weren’t especially helpful either. The location was fine, just nothing about the stay made me want to return. Two out of five.

The room was clean and beautiful, but mine had no chair or footrest. My main complaint is that the pool and hot tub were out of service, and nobody told me when I booked. I could have gotten a refund the day before arrival, but I didn’t know about the closure then. At first they put me in a room at the back, in the middle of the building, with access only from a sidewalk and no close parking. I didn’t feel safe there. They moved me, but the new room didn’t have an easy chair either.
