Atlantic Eyrie Lodge

Our room was spacious and clean, with a great view of the ocean from its balcony. The hotel sits on a hill overlooking the water, and all the rooms have balconies. It was close to Bar Harbor Town Center, the Acadia National Park entrance, and Ocean Path, with plenty of free parking spaces. Breakfast was fine, and the evening cookies were delicious. We visited over Labor Day weekend, so the price was a little high. I expect it would be lower at other times of year. We had a very pleasant stay and would return if we visit Bar Harbor again.

We used the free Island Explorer shuttle several times, which saved us parking costs and hassle, and were glad to have free parking for our rental car too. The front desk team were kind and helpful, and our room was so quiet we never heard other guests through the walls. We had a King room on the 4th floor with an amazing view. It came with a mini fridge, microwave, a small dining table and two chairs, and a loveseat. Everything was very clean, even the sliding balcony door glass. The carpet looked new, and the modern bathroom fixtures and comfortable mattress seemed fairly new as well. The bathroom was a little small. We loved the afternoon lobby cookies and the hot breakfast with fresh muffins, which we took on trays to our balcony each morning. The landscaping and flowers were lovely and well cared for. We felt comfortable and glad we chose this hotel, though it was a bit above our usual price range.

The location was excellent for both Acadia and downtown, with everything close by even though the hotel sits a little off the beaten path. The grounds were neatly kept, and the pool looked clean, though we didn’t use it. Our lobby, breakfast area, and room were clean, and the room was very large with a comfortable bed. The carpet inside was dated but looked clean, and the carpet in the outdoor hallway was worn and needs updating. From our 4th-floor balcony, the harbor view was spectacular, with sunrises, the sandbar, boats, and a cruise ship. Wind made a kind of tunnel sound in the room, which we hadn’t expected, but the air conditioning made it tolerable. Breakfast was plentiful, though the potatoes, French toast sticks, and sausage were quite dry. The cranberry muffins were outstanding, and the coffee, lobby cookies, and infused water were good. The check-in woman was very nice, but she didn’t tell us much about shuttle or bus service, which would have helped with parking costs and finding a spot in Bar Harbor village. We only learned about it when we asked on day two. The man at the daytime front desk wasn’t rude, just not very engaging. The elevator was a little slow but fine. We were happy with the hotel overall and would stay again.

The staff were friendly and really helpful, and the hotel is close to Bar Harbor village and lots to do. Our room was clean and comfortable, with super-comfy beds. We loved the included breakfast too. Can’t wait to come back!
