Eden Village Motel & Cottages

The room was exceptionally clean, and the bed was very comfortable. I liked its rustic cabin or camp feel, which was different from a typical hotel room. It had a kitchenette with a sink, microwave, and refrigerator/freezer, but bring your own plates and utensils because none are provided. The bathroom was clean and nice, with a rustic wooden sliding barn door. I was here for a few days of hiking in Acadia National Park and will be back. It’s quiet, set far enough from the main road that I barely heard traffic, and a few miles after crossing onto the island. They also have cottages, though I haven’t tried one.

The owners were great, and both the motel and cabins were well equipped and super clean. There was lots of indoor space, plus a perfect outdoor area. The back was very quiet, though you could hear a little road noise out front.

I stayed in a motel room, not a cottage, and would happily come back. The two new owners, sisters from New York, were kind and accommodating while making upgrades and working on the landscaping. They even put me in a room away from other guests so I could sleep peacefully. The room was clean and comfortable, with a cozy bed and air conditioning that worked perfectly. The rate was reasonable, about $100 with tax. My only complaints were weak shower pressure and a short wait for hot water. The keypad check-in was convenient. Each guest gets their own code, which is reset after every stay, handy if you’re coming and going. There’s no restaurant on site, but town is five minutes away. The property has a scenic field and tree view, a pond, and a small play structure, along with good parking. For a quiet, comfortable place to sleep while exploring the area, it worked really well.

The little kitchenette was fun, and the rooms were clean with updated bathrooms. The beds were okay. Each evening, staff set up the fire pits for guests, which we loved sitting by after exploring Maine. We’d love to come back.
