We loved our stay and plan to come back. The place felt quiet and whimsical, with charming, clean rooms and easy access to Bar Harbor in five minutes or less. There were small snacks and coffee in the common room, plus a private coffee bar in our room. The bedding was comfortable, and entry was contactless. Breakfast at Everyday Joes was pure comfort food.

The stained glass and jacuzzi tub in the Eden room were wonderful. It felt cozy and homey, and I liked that it wasn’t right in town.

Every morning started with a hearty breakfast at Everyday Joe’s, included in our stay, which set us up for hikes and scenic drives. At $239 a night during peak season, the price was competitive with other places nearby, and the inn describes itself as affordable. We stayed October 10-15 during leaf-peeping season. Heathwood Inn was a comfortable, conveniently located base for visiting Bar Harbor, Acadia’s main park loop, and the quieter Schoodic Peninsula. We could explore all of them without packing up and moving to another place.

We met Lena briefly, and she was delightful, with a great story. One handy surprise on our last day was finding out the free park bus picks up at the end of the driveway. The location was great, just a short drive from Acadia. We stayed in the master room, which had plenty of space, a roomy bathroom, and a super comfortable bed. The in-room coffee was good too. Very comfortable, with everything we needed. Highly recommend!

The Gorham room was very clean and close to restaurants and the National Park, but it faced the main road and we couldn’t rest well because of the traffic noise, even after hours. The mattress was also softer than we prefer. The stay was okay overall, but we wouldn’t book here again because of the noise.
