Moseley Cottage Inn & Town Motel

We booked two nights at Moseley Cottage through Booking.com about three weeks before our trip and received a confirmation. Three days before arriving, I emailed to confirm and ask whether we could check in at 1 p.m. Mosely said they couldn't guarantee it, since check-in was at 4. We got there around 3 p.m., but they couldn't find our reservation, so I showed them my confirmation. The innkeeper came out of a back room and said I'd spoken to her a week earlier and cancelled, and that they'd refunded me. Neither was true. She told me without any expression that our room had been resold and there was no vacancy. She couldn't explain why I hadn't received a cancellation email or refund, or why they'd confirmed our arrival three days earlier. I contacted Booking.com right away, but they were useless, frankly. About 45 minutes later, an email from Mosely finally cancelled the booking. My husband and I had planned a two-night stay, and this was a very poor experience. I'd book elsewhere. At best, this place seemed disorganized, and I found its practices unethical.

I hadn't stayed at a bed and breakfast before, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but the experience was awesome. The room was very clean and well kept, and the staff were friendly. It's in a great spot, about a five-minute walk to downtown, but not right in the middle of all the town activity. We had other plans and didn't try breakfast, though I'm sure it would've been great. Definitely recommend!

We can't wait to return. The staff were so friendly, and the breakfast delivered to our room each morning was fantastic. Great location too.

My husband was just as surprised as I was by how lovely the room was. It was incredible and clean, and we could easily walk to the main strip. The location was easy to get to. I can't wait to come back, it's the best place to stay in Bar Harbour.
