West Street Hotel

We loved returning to the room each day, with a direct view of the water from the entry. The balcony gave us a great place to sit outside and take it all in. Shops and the harbor were walkable, and the on-site parking was very valuable. We loved the hospitality and got the full Bar Harbor experience on our first visit. It’s an amazing hotel, and we’d definitely recommend it and all it offers.

At night, the hot apple cider in the lobby was a favorite. We’d grab a cup and sit by the fireplace to wind down. The hotel’s location right next to Main Street made it easy to pop back in between shopping trips. We stayed four nights and had a wonderful experience. They contacted us by email and, even better, by text before check-in, which made it easy to ask questions, check in, and check out. We arrived early before the room was ready, but they held our things, gave us a parking spot, and got us into the room soon after, still ahead of the regular check-in time. It was spacious, clean, with a great view and balcony, and housekeeping was excellent. We could text whenever we needed anything, and they even printed our park passes. We’ll definitely stay here again next time!

The four days were great, with excellent service, friendly people, a great location, and awesome lobby dogs. Bay view rooms are fantastic. My only real complaint was noise in the morning: our room was right across from the Service center. It gets busy with people coming for water, ice, hot drinks, apples, and other things. There are no coffee makers in the rooms, but there’s an excellent commercial grade Kuerg maker on each floor. You have to get dressed enough to go out in public for morning coffee, which isn’t too bad, but I wouldn’t choose a room opposite that Service center.

Sophie was so kind and had great recommendations. We were traveling with young kids, and the staff went above and beyond to make things easy. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, and Finn the Lobby dog gave us such a welcoming hello every day. We had a wonderful stay at the West Street Hotel and will 100 percent be back next fall.
