We arrived to find someone parked in the driveway. When I contacted Brooke, she said we weren’t supposed to be there until 5:00 pm, even though her confirmation email said we could check in the day before at 5:00pm. This was after we’d already paid in full and flown in. The place is the “Pink House,” which we recently rented under new management, ALL OF THE VERANDA IS. We originally booked with Felicia, who was AMAZING, but Brooke took over the whole venue, events, and The Pink House. A couple of weeks before our visit, she said they were doing a total renovation and there would be no TV. The pool was our main reason for choosing the place, and she said it would be ready. A few days before the trip, I checked again, and she confirmed the pool would be available, but still no TV. The pictures can tell the rest of the story. She owes us a FULL REFUND AND AN APOLOGY.

The backyard was a peaceful spot for my private yoga session with Janie / Ignite Your Flow, and I got some cute pictures for Insta too. I was lucky to win a weekend at The Pink Cottage Airbnb at The Veranda, along with the session. The cottage is in a charming, convenient part of Thornton Park, an easy walk from Lake Eola and great restaurants. The Veranda also often has fun events or markets in the courtyard. It’s a relaxing place to stay while exploring the area.

The little shops and the chance to grab craft coffee made our visit to the neighborhood even nicer. The Veranda has a lovely range of events, and the space changes completely depending on the occasion. We saw it set up for a country and Wild West themed company Christmas party, a candlelit classical concert, and a Galentine’s night market. It’s a gorgeous, flexible venue just a block from Lake Eola in Thornton Park. Definitely worth checking out!

I work here as the Event Build Manager, and I really enjoy changing the space to suit each occasion. There’s plenty of room, plus a pool and Airbnb options. It has that Southern elegance and class you’d expect from a downtown venue, and they welcome all kinds of events. I love this place.

Felicia, who owns and runs the Veranda, made the whole wedding weekend feel magical. Her relaxed, fun way of doing things made planning and running the day easy. Even a bridezilla like me could calm down around her. She’s great at her job and a wonderful person, and we feel like we made friends for life. We’re already looking forward to celebrating our anniversaries there. Thanks to Felicia and the Vernada team for making it so special. We stayed across all three houses with close friends and family. The orange house worked well for six if everyone was okay sharing a bed, and it became our main gathering spot for the weekend. It had everything we needed. My mom had the small blue house, tucked away with a lovely view. My husband and I stayed in the pink cottage on our wedding night, and it was a perfect little escape from the family. The houses also make great photo backdrops. The venue has helpful vendor suggestions, but you can bring your own too, which gave us more freedom and helped with the budget. I do agree that DJ Ben Bravo is the best! For a wedding, I’d also recommend private appetizers on the beautiful deck overlooking town. We had ours right after the ceremony, and I can’t recommend it enough. The Veranda at Thornton Park was just right for us in so many ways, especially with the houses on site, the freedom to create the event we wanted, and the lovely people to work with.
