Spinning Wheel Motel

The reception staff were amazing and very kind, and the property was clean and hospitable. Our bed was comfortable, and the shower was nice. Free parking was right outside the rooms, with a gas station and grocery store next door.

We stayed here 10/15/25 and would absolutely return. We like old 50's style motels, and this one was clean and nice. The room was especially good for the price, mid week $65.00 for a king, after tax total. We were in the rear building, which was nice and quiet. The owners seemed to be the ones who checked us in. He was very nice, though not chatty. Their living space is attached to the office, and whatever they were cooking smelled great, curry and garlic... I almost asked for some, lol. Parking isn't right by the door, so if you've got a heavy cooler, you might leave it in the car. I did, lol.

I booked and paid for a room in full after checking the website for any arrival time limits. I was working a 12 hour shift and had more than a 5 hour drive, and the site listed no limits, so I went ahead with the booking. When I arrived at 11:30pm, the office was closed. I called management and said I had a booking. They replied, "no, we are closed" and hung up. I called back to explain that I'd already paid and the website gave no check-in times. I was told "no" and hung up on again. I'll do what I can to get a refund, but it's now past midnight and I imagine my only option is sleeping in my car in some random parking lot. Thanks Spinning Wheel, maybe update the website so future travelers don't end up in my shoes.

For a $60 budget, I couldn't have asked for more. The room was quiet and peaceful, there was tons of parking, and everything was very clean. It's an older, family-owned motel, and the rooms are a little old, but I found them charming. The man who checked us in was very nice, and I'm glad I took a chance on staying here. The negative reviews weren't an issue for us. Most of the bad reviews seemed to come from people arriving really late and having a bad experience. Check-in is only until 9:00 p.m., and you're supposed to call ahead if you arrive later. I understand why an owner running the place alone might be upset if someone shows up in the middle of the night while he's sleeping. We arrived at a normal time, between 3-9pm.
