Bardstown Motor Lodge

The courtyard firepits were a lovely touch, and check-in was the friendliest I’ve had in a long time. We came on a warm night in February, and the place really seemed to come alive in that weather. Our room was clean and comfortable, but the road noise was heavy enough to make a good night’s sleep difficult. The stay also gets you 50% off appetizers and wine at Toogie's table, which is a great deal.

It has an old-fashioned feel, but in a fun way, and the staff were great. Malary was especially helpful. I wish there were a sign pointing out that the office is around back. We also would’ve stayed an extra night earlier in the trip, but nobody picked up when we called at 10pm, so we booked at the laquinta instead. That place was nice too.

The rooms were really clean, and the beds were comfortable. It looks like an old 1960s motel that’s been redone with a retro look and modern amenities. I heard the pool was heated but didn’t get a chance to try it. I’d definitely come back.

We had a fun short trip to try some bourbon, and the hotel matched the mood with its cute style and lively feel. Everyone on staff was helpful. Allen, the bartender, deserves a shout-out for being so accommodating to the guests at his bar and in the courtyard. We’ll stay here again when we return to Bardstown.
