Days Inn by Wyndham Barstow

At breakfast we found that the yogurt served to our 3-year-old children was expired. Later, we discovered the coffee creamer was six months past its date. The bagels and oatmeal had no dates on them either. Having to check expiration dates ourselves is alarming, and it raises serious concerns about food handling, staff training, and guest safety. Expired dairy can cause serious health problems in young children, so this is a serious hygiene failure, not a small mistake. Parents trust hotels to provide a safe environment, and that trust was broken here. I'd strongly caution families with young children before staying.

The front desk man went out of his way to get me a bottle opener and brought it right to my room. Excellent service!

I had a comfortable two days of rest here. The room was clean and well maintained, with a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, and the bed was comfortable. The location is good and easy to find. Everything else was perfect, though the Wi-Fi got unstable from late afternoon through the night.

This isn't a fancy place, but it works well if you need somewhere affordable and comfortable to unwind for a night or two. The rooms are reasonably priced, and the front desk is friendly, about what you'd expect at most hotels. The location beside I-15 makes getting on and off the highway easy. Bathrooms could use some attention, with tubs that need replacing and some new spouts. Strong three stars from me.
