Quality Inn Barstow Route 66

The room was clean and fairly updated, and the bed was comfortable. The woman at check-in was kind and attentive, and helped me get a quiet room. It’s a cheap place in a handy spot near the highway, but far enough away that it isn’t noisy. A couple of things could be better: the charging outlets are hard to reach behind furniture, and a power strip would have helped. When you first enter a dark room, it’s also hard to find the switch, which is obscure and operates a floor lamp that may or may not be on. 4.5 stars. I’d stay again.

The breakfast comes with each booking and includes an entree and coffee from the Mexican restaurant in the shared building. There’s a limited guest menu with choices like taco plates, oatmeal, and pancakes. I had the two eggs, toast, and bacon, which was probably worth at least $10. Inside, the room was clean and nice, and the free Wi-Fi was adequate. The exterior is showing its age, and sound carries through the rooms. From the second floor, I could hear people below and beside me. The area around the building is extremely well lit, and I didn’t see vagrants or shady characters walking around at night. It’s a nice budget motel, and I had a great stay. I’ll come back.

The service was extremely friendly, and the rooms were spotless, with a microwave and mini fridge. There’s a big pool and a cute courtyard, plus a proper free breakfast, not just a continental one. I’d definitely recommend staying here if you’re passing through.

The rooms are basic, but they were really clean and comfortable. The AC, TV, and fridge all worked fine, which isn’t always the case at a budget motel. Everyone on staff was super nice, too. Breakfast was free, filling, and available to take away. Great value, good food, and kind people. I loved my stay and would recommend it for an affordable night in Barstow.
