It's one of the last historic motels along Route 66 in Barstow. The rooms are spacious and have been upgraded recently, and the management is very friendly. They also let you bring cats, which is great for feline lovers of the Mother Road.

We picked this place at the last minute for an overnight stay in a classic Route 66 motel, and it worked out really well. The room was roomy, clean, and well equipped, and the gentleman at reception was very kind. For what we paid, we had no complaints and I'd recommend it. The one issue was the smell from the air conditioning blowing into the room.

There are some pretty cool older cars in the parking lot. The motel has a rustic, Americana feel on the edge of downtown. Most things in the room were old and well used, but everything worked. The bed was comfortable, and the coffee maker and the soap, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers were all good.

Rita and Peter, the managers, are kind-hearted, great people. The room was quiet, cool, and comfortable, with nice warm water, and there were no bugs or smells. The area isn't fantastic, and you might notice what you see walking up and down the street, but that's California. The price was just right too. I'd stay again and again, so give it a shot!

The room itself was nice and clean, but street noise kept interrupting the night. I heard sirens all night, probably because there's a hospital down the road. When we arrived on Christmas Day, the attendant said there was a $20 deposit. When we went to get it back, we were told it covered use of the other amenities, cable TV, coffee, and soaps. Never heard of such a thing. Merry Christmas, lady!
