Golden Apple Inn

We spent three nights here while seeing Mount Washington and the White Mountain attractions. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a nice view and direct access to the pool. It was peaceful and quiet. We appreciated being able to help ourselves to soap, towels, coffee, tea, and even toilet paper after the front desk closed. Staff were friendly and helpful at check-in and checkout. No complaints, and I’d recommend the Golden Apple as a place to stay nearby.

Our group of 12 booked three rooms and had a great time. The pool was great, the property is consistently clean, and the fire area is nice. Still, after three years of staying at the Golden Apple Inn, we won’t be back because we found a more family-friendly place. It unfortunately isn’t kid or family friendly. The owners leave subtle signs when you’re not welcome, so trust your instincts. If you need lodging for a Story Land trip, this isn’t the best family choice.

We’ve been coming for years and don’t plan to stay at a chain hotel. The place feels just right for our visits to NH, new but still cozy. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, and the owners are friendly. The location is ideal, and the nearby restaurants and bakeries are delicious.

The lobby is a pleasant spot, with tea, coffee, and hot chocolate, and pool towels were available there. There’s a pool out back, though I didn’t swim. My room had a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker, and was clean. I stayed three nights to hike in the area and climb Mt. Washington. The owners were friendly and helpful, and I chatted with Jan at the front desk about the local area. I’d stay here again.
