The Crossroads Inn

The parking lot was filthy, with dirty diapers, beer bottles, and trash everywhere. Inside, the carpet was coming up from the floor, and a stale, moldy smell lingered throughout the hotel. The room was awful: stains in the bathtub, cigarette burns on the bathroom wallpaper, and blankets that looked like they’d been there since the 1970s. The old white microwave and mini fridge had turned yellow. There was mold on the right side of the TV stand, like something had splashed there years ago, and the wood was peeling. This place is disgusting and detestable. I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy. If I could give zero stars, I would.

They charged us more than the amount we’d agreed to before booking, and this happened to a group of 13 families, not just one. The staff need to improve their communication, and the hotel needs better cleanliness and hygiene. It smelled really bad, and there’s no elevator. Staff turned off the pool area lights after 10 without waiting even a few minutes, and the receptionist wouldn’t give us five minutes past checkout. The worst hotel I’ve stayed in. I’d never recommend it to anyone.

We’ve used the facility for our Sunday worship services for almost eight years, and the service has stayed consistent. The staff have always been friendly, polite, and accommodating. It may not look fancy, but the rooms are clean, the people are kind, and the rates are reasonable.

The two main reasons we booked were the pool and breakfast, but the pool wasn’t open and breakfast wasn’t available. We thought the special price made it a great deal, but the room felt like the result of plain old laziness. It took over an hour to get a replacement coffee pot for the broken one in our room. It’s a shame to see bad customer service bring down a place that looks like it could be appreciated.
