The pool is heated and so good, and we ended up spending most of our time at the hotel instead of seeing the sights. The bar was great too. Our room was spotless, even underneath the bed, so it’s clear they take cleaning seriously. We also got a really good rate compared with most hotels around here. After a terrible experience at another local hotel, Hotel McCoy was a relief. Paul at the front desk was warm, helpful, professional, and easy to talk to. Everyone we met was kind, but Paul went so far out of his way that I assumed he owned the place. He clearly cares. We’ll stay here whenever we come back to Tucson. The art, cleanliness, and hospitality felt like what hotels offered 20 years ago.

The music really helps set the mood here, and I loved all the art and murals. The rooms are adorable, the coffee is great, and the whole place has a lovely vibe. I’d never seen an oatmeal bar before, but it was amazing and they’d clearly put a lot into it. The staff were great, the room was immaculate, and the pool and grounds were top notch. I hate leaving, but I’ll definitely come back. It’s such a unique spot.

The location makes it easy to get to Tucson sights, with good parking, though being close to I-10 does bring some traffic noise. The rooms are comfortable and straightforward, with quirky graphics and bold colors. Breakfast at the oatmeal bar has lots of toppings, plus pop tarts. It’s a fun, funky retro motel, and the art and color carry through the whole experience.

We stayed five nights and really enjoyed it. The place felt comfortable and communal, which worked well for remote work during the day and relaxing later. We paid for the cheapest room, a single queen, and it was clean and uniquely decorated. It had a mini fridge and free wifi that worked great. It’s not really walkable, but downtown Tucson is a short drive away, and I believe they lend out bikes. There’s a lot to do here: a pinball room, free arcade games, plenty of art, a big dining and work area, a small gym, a heated pool, and other thoughtful touches. One night they had an open mic in the dining area. The bar serves free oatmeal with lots of toppings in the morning, too. The best part was the service and amenities. Every staff member we met was kind, friendly, quick, and helpful. For what we paid, it felt like a steal. We’d absolutely stay again and recommend it to anyone after an affordable, unusual stay in Tucson.

I was here for nearly a week on a work trip in January, and I’d come back. The lobby had activities most nights, and Tuesday’s Irish and Celtic musicians were a highlight. They were so talented, and listening to them made the trip special. I also spent much more time than expected at the bar because Cenia and Paul were such great company. This place gave me an experience I wouldn’t have found elsewhere. 10/10.
