Location is the Pokolodi's biggest plus: it's a five-minute walk to the slopes, with Snowmass Village Mall's shops and restaurants just across the street and up a flight of stairs. Free village shuttles and buses to Aspen, Ajax Mountain (Aspen), Aspen Highlands, and Buttermilk are across the street too. It's only 15 minutes from the Aspen airport, and the complimentary shuttle means you can skip a rental car. We've been coming since the 1990s because it's such a good value at one of the world's best ski resorts, Snowmass Mountain. It's a classic, no-frills lodge in the heart of Snowmass village, impeccably managed and maintained. The lobby and lounge are great for wine by the fire and games with family, and the morning brings complimentary breakfast in a sunlit lounge full of skiers getting ready for the slopes. Staff are warm and welcoming. Rooms are clean, quiet, and comfortable, with newer furniture and comfortable beds. After skiing, the large outdoor pool and hot tub are perfect for hanging out with a beer and friends while the snow falls. And don't get me started about Summers in Aspen/Snowmass…

We stayed at the Pokolodi Lodge in July and had a great time. The kids and we loved the pool, and being within walking distance of lots of pick up was handy. The front desk staff, see photo, were adorable, and we'd stay again when visiting the Snowmass/Aspen area. The one drawback was no AC in summer. We were traveling with our 1 & 3yo and could have used better temperature control. Luckily, the windows open wide, and the area felt safe with them open.

The Pokolodi still feels like a classic Snow Mass lodge from the vintage years, with a wooden, no-frills style and a great vibe. The public space is cozy for hanging out, the rooms are super clean, and the staff are fantastic and kind. For skiers, the lifts are SUPER close, which surprised me. Amazing that a place like this still exists in the crazed Aspen/Snowmass scene.

The location is FANTASTIC, and for the price this place is great. The rooms are comfortable, the pool and jacuzzi are well kept, and the staff are friendly. I'll definitely be back!

The location is hard to beat, with the slopes under a five-minute walk away and Incline ski rentals just around the corner. Breakfast was great before a day skiing, and the free airport shuttle is a real help in Aspen, where Ubers are limited. The owner Dave is so personable and goes out of his way to accommodate guests. If you want a clean, comfortable place that won't break the bank, the Pokolodi is it. Just book it!
