Days Inn By Wyndham Batesville Ar

We arrived around 10:30 at night, and there was a sign on the door telling us to call a number for service. The staff seemed pleasant, but reaching them was difficult. In the morning the breakfast area was empty, without even coffee. I called the number from the night before and it was out of service. Eventually I got through to someone, who said there was no breakfast. The Days Inn and Wyndham sites, plus hotel.com, all said breakfast was included. I wasn’t expecting much, but for $100 at a run-down hotel in the middle of nowhere, I did expect the breakfast those sites advertised. I can see why they had vacancies.

The room wasn’t ready even though check-in was listed for 3pm and we were assigned it at 4pm. The front desk person wasn’t very friendly. We were told we’d get two queen beds, but they were full size and hard as rocks. There was hair in the tub, and the bathroom vent was hanging out of the ceiling. The shower was messed up, with water still running into the tub, and the bathroom door stuck on the floor. When we unplugged something by the sink, the outlet came right out of the wall. Breakfast was supposedly included, but it was just cereal and yogurt, with a muffin if you were lucky.

The room was clean and spacious. Chris let me check in at 4am and leave at 4pm, which meant I could get some decent sleep before work. I work overnight in Batesville but live in Cabot.

For the price, we got what we got, and I hope we don’t have to stay again. The bathroom was decent and the bed was firm but okay, though there was no chair besides the desk chair. The room smelled musty, the curtains were torn and knotted so they wouldn’t hang on the floor, and the rug was dirty. The towels felt like scratch pads, so they exfoliated us pretty well. There weren’t any coffee refill packs for the second morning. Two stars.
