Super 8 by Wyndham Batesville

The rooms and staff were excellent, and I’ll always love and remember my stay at the Super 8 Batesville. There are locals in the area who cause trouble and then blame you, though. Be careful if you’re staying alone, since they might gang up on you. The locals weren’t so great.

We left right away and booked rooms somewhere else for our whole party. The venue we were visiting had arranged this room for us, but it was possibly one of the grossest I’ve ever seen. The AC didn’t cool it, there were bugs and stains on the floor, and a few squashed bugs were still stuck to the wall. There was mold on the ceiling, and when we checked for bed bugs, we found a large red stain on the mattress, just covered by the sheets. This place is a step above a “rent by the hour” spot, at best.

I’ve never asked a hotel for a refund before, but I did here. The door lock kept sticking and didn’t work properly. When I told the staff, they already knew about it, so why give that room to someone? The sink stopper was jammed shut and the water wouldn’t drain. There was no furniture besides the bed and TV stand, and no TV. The AC and heater wouldn’t turn on. In the middle of the night, the lobby manager had the lobby TV at full volume, and I had to ask them to turn it down. They didn’t sell bottled water, either. When we left, there were homeless people throwing up in the parking lot.

I ran into the desk lady at Hawgs and asked her about room deals. Miss Christy told me about them, and I got a room within a few days. My wife and I got a week alone for a great price. Thanks, Miss Christy, you were very helpful.
