The smell hit us as soon as we walked into the hotel, and it was just as bad in the elevator and hallways. The lights in the hall and rooms were very dim, and our room was dirty. It was late, so we tried to put up with it. Then I tried to shower, but the water wouldn't drain and kept backing up into the tub. The room phone didn't work, so my husband had to go downstairs by elevator to report it. A worker came up with a plunger and tried to hand it to my husband. When he asked why he should have to fix their problem, the worker tried himself but couldn't, then offered another room. We'd already packed our things and it was very late, but they said that was all they could do. They said the manager would give us a full refund if we packed up within 30 minutes, or we could move rooms. We tried three rooms, all with the same problems: dirty, smelly, with drains and phones that didn't work. We pointed out that nonworking phones were dangerous in an emergency. The worker offered his own cell number, but that felt unprofessional and we declined. The backed-up shower water was unsanitary too. After a lot of difficulty getting a refund, Expedia managed to get them to issue one. I later saw the real reviews, and they sounded a lot like ours. Many also mention bedbugs, though thankfully I didn't experience that. Don't stay here if you care about your health and safety. The good ratings here are fake, and if I could give less than one star, I would.

The indoor heated pool was wonderful, and the location is great. Everyone was friendly and hospitable. The rooms were immaculate, beautiful, and a great size for the price. I'd highly recommend this place and will definitely stay again. If six stars were possible, I'd give them.

I noticed mold around the shower drain when I went into the bathroom, and the room had a mildew smell. I called to ask for a different room, but was told the hotel was fully booked and none were available. They said we could get a refund if we left. On the way out, we saw a container meant to collect mildew. If they knew there was a mildew problem, why not fix it and take the room out of service instead of trying to make money from guests when it's uninhabitable? We had reserved for Nov 14th-15 and will never book here again. Shame on this hotel! Room #200.

The full breakfast included with the stay makes this a great bargain. The hotel is very clean, the staff extremely polite, and the rooms are nice. I'll definitely stay here again when I'm in Baton Rouge.

It was very quiet during our Wednesday to Friday stay, apart from highway noise. The hotel was clean and served a solid breakfast. There's a small indoor pool and a gym, but no hot tub.
