Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Baton Rouge

This place is privately owned now; it's not Microtel. I've had a marvelous, relaxing experience at the one on Siegen Lane and Harding, where it smells good. This one on Airline was a huge letdown. After checking in, we left our bags and went to eat. When we got back, I asked about a laundry room so I could wash my work uniform, and was told there wasn't one. I took a shower and was glad I'd brought my own soap and shampoo, since the bathroom had none. There were just two small towels and one large one. When I went to call the desk, I found there was no phone in the room. What if there'd been an emergency? I went downstairs for more towels, but they had none and said I'd have to wait until housekeeping came the next day. Back upstairs, I found multiple roaches had gotten into my food. The room smelled of cigarettes and marijuana. Someone's used towels were in the cabinet by the ironing board. For $100, there was no soap, no laundry room, no towels and no service. The business center is supposedly listed with an ATM, but there's only an ATM there. I'm disgusted. They could put the money they charge into better customer amenities.

The room was gross, broken, and had exposed lights and other things. The hotel smelled, and there was no customer service. Breakfast wasn't available at 8:40 am even though it was supposed to run until 9. This was a mistake we learned the hard way. There's a reason it's so cheap: you get what you pay for. I strongly suggest paying more and staying somewhere else.

There were so many roaches, and they ate my food. The bathtub had a stain, and the beds were nasty. There isn't a pool, and they don't serve breakfast. The roaches were just horrible.

They advertise breakfast, but definitely don't serve it. The rooms are decent, but there's no service, and nobody stays at the front desk.
