The Carter inn

The hosts were so friendly, and their breads and cookies were top notch. Don’t miss the baked goods! We stayed three nights in a very clean, cozy room with mountain decor. It had everything we needed, including a fan, fridge, and microwave, plus a few extra treats like a robe, slippers, and chocolates. The town is small, so dining and gas are just a couple of blocks away.

We only had one night at The Carter Inn, but it was easily the best lodging of our trip through Grand Teton, Yellowstone, and South Dakota. Everything on the property was pristine, and the room was spotless. Breakfast was family style, made from scratch, and exceptional, while Kenny & Christa were wonderful hosts who had thought of all the comforts and conveniences. We’re already figuring out how to fit another Ten Sleep stay into our next trip west. Be sure to visit Ten Sleep Brewing Co & Dirty Sally’s while you’re there.

Nine nights here and I wasn’t homesick once. Coming back from vacation was harder than I expected. Kenny and Christa are wonderful, and they really do make you feel like family. Breakfast each morning was homemade with care, quality ingredients, and food you can’t just buy: fresh fruit, jams, breads, pastries, eggs, protein, and good coffee. I also loved lingering at the breakfast table and chatting with rock climbers, motorcycle riders, diggers, and other good people passing through town. The room was clean and comfortable, with a good bed, good air conditioning, and nice soaps. It made the whole vacation better, and I can’t wait to stay again next year. Best hotel experience I’ve ever had, it truly felt like staying with family.

The welcome started with warm chocolate chip cookies at check-in, and even included Vegemite once they learned we were Australian. The owners really go the extra mile to make a stay enjoyable. Breakfast was home cooked and amazing, especially the stewed apples. We had a great stay at the Carter Inn, a lovely place to stop, relax, and recharge.
