Regency Inn

I hadn’t even arrived when I called to pay by phone, even though my reservation said I’d pay at the hotel. The front desk guy was disrespectful, canceled my reservation, and hung up on me.

CJ is great, and the people here are friendly and helpful. It’s quiet, too, with lots to do nearby. The rooms could use some updating, but don’t let the cosmetic upkeep put you off staying.

The night manager was extremely rude when I calmly asked for a refund. I was charged a $5 cleaning fee for “lifting up the sheet,” and told to call the police if I had a problem with that. Their policy says you have to change the booking or request a refund within 15 minutes of booking. I knew this was a cheap place and only needed somewhere to sleep, so my expectations weren’t high. Still, the outside looked sketchy and the room was worse. Roaches ran across the floor when I walked in. The sheets and bed were stained with what looked like bodily fluid, including the visible mattress. The bathroom light didn’t work, and there was no toilet paper. Please don’t stay in this run-down, roach-infested dust bucket if you care about your health.

I didn’t feel safe here with my children. The neighborhood was bad, the front office door window was shattered, and several motel room windows were boarded up. Check-in took a long time, and nobody was in the office when we went to check out. The bathroom was filthy, and the towels were dirty, worn, very thin, and hard. There were only two towels and one washcloth for three people. An overpowering smoke smell made it hard to sleep. I’m not sure if the people above us were smoking, even though the rooms were supposedly smoke-free.
