I rarely review a hotel before I’ve finished my stay, but Erica Barnes, the Front Office Manager at the Residence Inn near LSU, deserves recognition now. Her responsiveness, professionalism, and attention to detail were remarkable, and working with her was far easier and more thoughtful than my usual experience with Marriott team members through the app portal. From our first interaction, Erica took time to understand what I needed, clarify my request, and handle it with genuine care. Ms. Barnes made me feel valued and appreciated, which matters most to me in hospitality, regardless of a hotel’s rating or any mixed reviews about the property. She embodies the idea of people helping people, and represents a level of service and brand I wholeheartedly support. Thanks, Erica!

At over $200 a night, I shouldn’t have to ask for fresh towels and a made bed. They only refresh the room when you request it, unless you’re staying two or more days. The bathroom needs work too: rusty hinges that seem original, a stained old tub, and a drain that lets the water build up while you shower. The room needs upgrades. Don’t waste your time here.

Nae is so knowledgeable, pleasant, and genuinely caring. She’s here most days and does everything she can for guests within her limits. Her hugs, food suggestions, and event recommendations have helped make this feel like a home away from home, and she makes you feel like family. Highly recommend!

Five out of five. The only interruption was another guest setting off the fire alarm or smoke detector by overcooking bacon, but that’s not on the hotel, LOL. I’d definitely stay again. Thanks, Stacy and Nae!

For a business traveler new to the city, this Residence Inn has felt like a little sanctuary. The place is spotless and smells fresh, and the bed is incredibly comfortable. At the other extended-stay place nearby, I felt I had to clean the bathroom before unpacking. Here, everything was ready when I walked in. I arrived late at night with no reservation after a terrible experience elsewhere, and the night clerk took care of me immediately. The next morning, Stacy Parker worked out a great monthly rate for my business stay, which was a lifesaver. Erica at the front desk has been wonderful throughout my time here. I’m genuinely grateful to the staff for making me feel at home.
