The air conditioner was so loud it made it hard to sleep, and the property clearly needs maintenance and updates. My first room's door was broken off its hinge and wouldn't close. At around 11 PM, the manager said I had to stay because the hotel was sold out, even though there were plenty of open parking spaces. After I pushed the issue, they moved me. The second room had a faulty lock, so staff had to open it manually, and the bathroom door didn't work right. The side entrance was also out of order, and I got stuck outside in the rain. The stay felt poorly managed. I expect better from a Marriott-branded hotel.

Everyone was pleasant and the service was great. Ms. Brenda, who handles breakfast, takes time to connect with guests and ask if she can get them anything. Housekeeping did a good job in my room, too. The one issue I had was that the mobile key didn't work.

Brian and another staff member whose name I didn't catch were really kind and gave me good restaurant recommendations. Everyone was friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived, and they did their best to make me comfortable. The warm hospitality is why I'm giving five stars.

I work night shifts at a nearby hospital and needed a room earlier in the day than a normal check-in time so I could sleep. Brian went out of his way to help and treated me like a VIP, even the morning after an LSU game when things must have been hectic. That's a good reminder of why I look for a Marriott when I travel. I just took a job that sends me to a dozen states, sometimes at short notice, and this makes me feel even more sure I'll keep choosing Marriott. I'll stay here whenever work brings me to this location. Thanks so much, Brian.
