I’m sorry to say this was by far my worst experience as a Marriott guest. I booked a suite and recommended the location to extended family too. We’d traveled a long way for our father’s funeral and arrived physically tired and emotionally exhausted. My room was dirty, the refrigerator leaked onto the floor, there was no shower curtain, the body wash bottle was empty, the phone didn’t work, the bedroom curtain had a hole, and there was nowhere to put our clothes. We had to ask repeatedly for towels and washcloths, and guests were partying loudly in the parking lot. My family’s rooms were much the same. The place feels neglected, outdated, and unsafe, and it’s definitely not Marriott quality. We’re grateful to Charles, who worked hard to maintain the breakfast area and was professional and attentive.

The linens were very clean, and the staff were helpful. A few things needed to be addressed more than once, but most were taken care of right away. The room fabrics, like the curtains, and items such as the ironing board cover weren’t the cleanest. It’s a decent enough spot, and Element may be worth the slightly higher nightly price.

When I checked into the Marriott, Danyell Joubert stepped in and made my trip a lot less hectic. I was in Baton Rouge for Thanksgiving with my baby and my boyfriend, and a few unexpected things had left us in a bad place. She heard out the issues and came up with a solution. Danyell was amazing, compassionate, and empathetic, and a great example of how Marriott employees should be. She’s truly an asset to the company. Thank you, Danyell, for your professionalism and service!

OMG, this was the worst hotel! They charged my card twice, and the room was dirty. There was no TV in the main bedroom, and the internet didn’t work. The front desk guy, prince, was horrible and didn’t know anything. He was so bad he should be fired ASAP. Please don’t go there, horrible place.

The full kitchen and outdoor bar b que grill were awesome, and breakfast was top notch. It was quiet and quaint, felt right at home, and the service was amazing.
