I stayed for four weeks and paid by the week. I was told I’d get a refund for unused days if I left early, but that didn’t happen. I paid on Sunday for the week, then my job ended Tuesday, so I checked out at 9am, before the 11am checkout time. I expected the rest of the week to be refunded, but they said no because I’d paid a weekly rate. I understand weekly rates are cheaper, but at a regular daily rate I’d at least have gotten some money back. Just so you know, this is what happens if you check out early after paying weekly. I’d never go back.

The room is quite large, with a fridge, microwave, and a pretty good-sized TV. The beds are soft, and the AC works great once the room cools down. The employees are nice, prices are cheap, and there’s hot water here. Some coworkers stayed at another hotel and didn’t have hot water, or found huge, badly patched holes in the ceilings. The cleaning service is good too, although I prefer to keep my room clean and take out my own trash.

Every other hotel in Bay City was booked during the hurricane weather on July 9th, so we stayed here because it was the only one with rooms. We paid $135 for one night plus a $50 deposit. Money wasn’t the issue, but we felt taken advantage of, and if I hadn’t been tired I would’ve driven an hour for another room. The inside is old-fashioned, the tub wasn’t clean, there were crumbs on the table and floor when we arrived, and dead cockroaches and bugs were on the floor. The rooms are spacious, but for that price I’ll never stay here again. We left first thing after sunrise.

The rate is on the higher side, but I felt I got my money’s worth. They even have an in-house drop-off laundry service for a reasonable fee. The property managers were pleasant, and they put a lot of time, money, and effort into making the place respectable. The managers pitched in with some of the work too, which you don’t often see.
