Hampton Inn & Suites Port Richey

We’ve had a really nice stay so far. Ivan even came up to our room to help us find the Olympics on TV. On our first day, he and Robert were at the desk, got us checked in, and answered all our questions about the area and places to eat.

Ivan and Brenda went above and beyond for me and my family, and the whole staff was kind. I wish I'd gotten everyone's names. They were generous with fresh baked cookies for the kids, too. We had a few obstacles, but they reassured us they would take care of things, and they did. Thank you!

My main disappointment was the breakfast, which was forgettable, with powdered eggs. Hampton used to have made-to-order breakfast, and it's sad those days seem gone because of corporate greed. The property felt dated, though not terribly so. There was no in-room safe, which is hard to believe for such a basic convenience these days. If you need one, you may want to look elsewhere.

The floor in our room slanted, and they took full payment when we arrived instead of at checkout. When we left three days early, they initially said there'd be no refund, though they eventually returned our money. This isn't a corporate hotel, so they make up their own rules. I'll stick to corporate hotels from now on, never franchise ones.
