Hampton Inn Houma

The room was nice and very clean, and I appreciated how quiet it was. The staff were hospitable too. Every person who passed me said hello and responded when I asked how they were doing. Would I stay here again? You bet.

The best thing here is the location: it’s on Houma’s main thoroughfare, with several places to eat within walking distance. The hotel itself is old and needs renovation. The toilet kept running, and breakfast was subpar. I got there around 7:30, but the main course and other food were already gone. Another guest had to find the server behind the front desk; she wasn’t watching the breakfast bar, which needed wiping down. The juices were all watered down.

The updates to the rooms look poorly done, with patchwork showers and holes in the walls. Breakfast was okay, but sparse and limited.

As a Hilton Honor member, I found this Hampton Inn above average compared with the others I’ve visited around the country. The staff were wonderful, the beds extremely comfortable, and I had no cleanliness complaints. There are great places to eat nearby, and the breakfast bar has more choices. My one complaint is the filthy green mildew on the exterior window on the third floor. I always stay on the top floor with the shades and curtains open.
