Econo Lodge Baytown

The AC was visibly broken when I walked in, and the floor was covered in trash. There was somebody's phone case on the dresser, no TV on the wall, and the bed didn't even have sheets. This was by far the worst room I've ever seen. Save yourself the disgust and hassle, and stay literally anywhere else.

The weekly rate is the cheapest and best in town, and I felt secure here with the police making rounds. My room was newly renovated, and there's a bar on site as well as laundry facilities. Staff throughout the property were helpful, especially at the front desk, and maintenance is available if something goes wrong. The manager makes a real effort to help and get to know the customers. I had a great stay and will suggest it to friends and family.

The bed was good, and the walls and bathroom were fine. Both times I stayed, the sheets were clean, though the first set had cigarette burns. The carpet was dirty and worn out, the furniture had cigarette burns, and there were no trash cans. The fragrance used to cover the room's previous odors was terrible. Outside housekeeping was poor, with lots of trash around.

I wouldn't stay here if cleanliness matters to you. The whole property looked run down, with overgrown lawn and shrubs, and the shower didn't work. The first room had a strong, awful sweet smell mixed with mildew, filthy matted carpet, dirty, foul-smelling linens that hadn't been changed, dust everywhere, and spiders crawling around. When I told the front desk clerk, she said it was the room rented to a guy who stayed drunk. The replacement room was about the same.
