Beacon Hermitage

Jim and Joe suggested a walk to the reservoir, and we loved that insider tip. The location also made it easy to get to downtown Beacon and nearby hiking trails, and we had no trouble getting Ubers all weekend. Our room was clean, the shared areas were cozy and tidy, and the other guests were respectful. We especially enjoyed the homemade breakfast and coffee. The Beacon Hermitage has a homey, instantly relaxing feel, and it was great value for the price. A lovely fall getaway, and we're already looking forward to coming back in spring!

Jim checked in on us while we were traveling to make sure we got back safely after the government shutdown forced us to drive out of town instead of flying home to Texas. That kindness says a lot about him. Joe and Jim were wonderful hosts throughout our two-night stay. Our room was very well appointed and comfortable while we explored Beacon, visited the nearby DIA museum, and ate out. My spouse and I plan to return to New York and stay at Beacon Hermitage again.

We stayed in the Blue Room, which was quaint and clean, with robes and a Keurig coffee machine. The art around the house and the gardens are spectacular. Jim and Joe were welcoming and texted the day before with arrival details, key cards for the B&B, and our room security code. Beacon Hermitage sits between Cold Spring and Beacon. The breakfast was amazing, especially the pastries 🥮, and it made for a romantic Hudson Valley stay.

The garden is worth a walk, especially in fall, when the views are great. Jim and Joe made our last-minute trip easy, and they were kind and accommodating. They prepared breakfast in the morning and even offered us a ride into town. The place is gorgeous, clean, and distinctive, and the bed was comfortable. I liked being able to watch TV in bed, too. Such a lovely stay.
