The place was nowhere near worth what we paid, and I stand by my review. I also noticed mold around the bathtub, there was no remote for the TV in one bedroom so I couldn’t tell whether it worked, and the towels were kept in a garden shed. We saw someone enter the supposedly private backyard to get them. Don’t add lies to your reply. The TVs didn’t work, but when I contacted the owner, he did nothing. I also reported the sticky dining table, and it wasn’t something we imagined. The walls were very dirty, despite the $150 cleaning fee. We were told we couldn’t check in until 5 because of a power failure and cleaning, though check-in was supposed to be at 4. The owner still expected us out by 10. He never changed the message to say we could enter at 4. The dining room light instructions were ridiculous: he said three switches had to be on, one in the bedroom, one in the hall, and one in the dining room. In fact, they worked in reverse and all had to be off. The bed broke when we went to sleep, and we had to prop it up. We’re average-sized, and it looked like it had been broken before. The smoke alarms also went off in the night for no apparent reason. It lasted about 15 seconds, but woke us all up. In his reply, he claimed the TVs worked and the place was checked for cleanliness, but he ignored me when I said they didn’t work.

We stayed for just over a week in this family neighborhood, which felt safe. The place was comfortable and clean, although there were some marks on the walls, and the bedding was clean. Grocery stores and restaurants are walkable, but the beach isn’t close enough to walk to, so you’ll need to drive. The washer stopped working just as I put my clothes in. They were still soaking wet, so I had to walk 20 minutes to a laundromat. Five days later it still wasn’t fixed, though the owner said he’d ordered a part. I appreciated that he came by in person during the cold spell to make sure we had enough bedding and knew how to use the thermostat.

We left as soon as we arrived for our one-night booking. The online photos seemed heavily edited and gave a misleading impression, and the property felt poorly maintained and unkempt. There was no lock on the bathroom door, and the sheets in the living room had already been used. Our email said check-in was at 4 PM, but when we got there after that time, people were still cleaning. That felt highly unprofessional and made us too uncomfortable to stay. Based on this experience, we wouldn’t recommend the property.

It was also close to restaurants and attractions. The property was spotless, well maintained, and matched its description. I’d happily recommend Coco Bay Condos for an enjoyable, hassle-free getaway.
