Beatty has a decent number of places to eat, and the staff were friendly. Our room was clean, with a fridge and microwave, though I didn’t notice those when booking and would’ve liked to know upfront. There’s no coffee maker in the room, but basic coffee is served in the lobby each day. We stayed four nights at Motel 6 Beatty on a recent Death Valley trip. The beds and rooms are on the small side, and soundproofing is lacking. We could hear the guy next door snoring! The drive was a bit much each day, 8 miles to the park entrance and at least 30 minutes to Furnace Creek. Still, for the price, we got the adequate room we expected, and I’d stay again if we returned to Death Valley. You get the value you pay for with this hotel and brand, so I’d recommend it if you’re staying in the area.

Most of my stay was good. The room was clean and affordable, with comfortable beds and everything I needed. As a business owner, though, I wanted to pass along a concern. I don’t know whether the woman I’m referring to was in management, and I’d like to think she wasn’t. In my opinion, her pink hair and clothing, which looked more suited to a club than representing a business at the front desk, weren’t very professional. That’s less concerning to me than a phone conversation I could overhear. It sounded like she might have been trying to buy drugs, talking about having a lot of money, being sick, and asking if they could bring it to her. She was also talking very fast and moving around a lot. If I could hear her, who knows whether this has happened before. I thought the motel’s owner should know, since I’d want to know if it were my business.

We had a Subway right next door, which was perfect for grabbing sandwiches before our road trip. The staff were kind, and there was coffee and hot water for tea in the morning between 4-11pm. We stayed two nights over Thanksgiving break, and I was just happy to be there. It felt so peaceful to walk around, with beautiful fall colors outside the window as soon as we opened the curtains. It was a perfect place to stay near Death Valley.

This was my first time staying at a Motel 6, and I don’t regret choosing it. Beatty, NV has a few other places to stay, but Motel 6 was the best value for the money. It’s also close to Death Valley. All the food places in Beatty are within walking distance, though the town is small enough that everything is pretty walkable anyway. I’d highly recommend it!

On the night of March 11, 2026, we arrived at Motel 6 around 10:30 PM after spending the day in Death Valley National Park and staying late to stargaze. We’d booked and prepaid several days earlier, and had a confirmation email and number. Check-in was listed as 3:00 PM, but the front desk told us our reservation had been cancelled and there was no room for us. I later saw that the cancellation email had been sent at 7:17 PM, but we had no cell service in the park and didn’t see it until much later. When we asked Christopher at the front desk why, he said the previous shift hadn’t told him and he didn’t know what had happened. We’d booked there because rooms inside the park were sold out, and Beatty had nowhere else available that night. Our choices were to sleep in the car or drive about 100 miles to Tonopah in the middle of the night. Luckily we found a last-minute room there, but it turned what should’ve been a great trip into a stressful, exhausting one. Having a confirmed, prepaid booking cancelled without warning in such a remote area was extremely disappointing. I hope management looks into it so no other travelers get stranded the same way.
