Comfort Suites near MCAS Beaufort

I chose this place because it was closer to my son than the Holiday Inns I usually use, and it turned into the worst stay I've ever had. My grandkids had only walked into the room, but I got a call accusing them of running around. After that, I was afraid to let them off the bed. I asked to change rooms, and instead they put us out in our night clothes and called the police. The man wouldn't let me explain or check the cameras first. I've had custody of these kids and stayed in motels with them for six years, and I've never been kicked out before. I will keep praying for that lady, but I understand now why the place looked like a ghost town. I called Choice Hotels and emailed several times, but I still haven't had my Afterpay refunded. This was the most horrible experience I've ever had. We finished the weekend at the Holiday Inn two minutes up the road. Their people were friendly, their service was great, and they have a rewards program where you can earn points. That's where I'll stay from now on. I'll be back in March, but I won't stay here again or want to return to a Comfort Suites. Highly not recommended.

The pool and hot tub were advertised as available when we booked and confirmed that way by the receptionist at check-in, but both were out of service. Also, check that your $5 incidental deposit makes it back to your card after checkout. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. The old hallway carpet was dusty and smelled awful, and it caused severe allergic reactions for me and the kids.

The room was a horror show when we arrived for my little boy's boot camp graduation. There were mystery stains all over the carpets and walls, and the shower was full of dead flies. The bathroom door had no handle or lock. I don't think housekeeping exists here. The large white-haired woman at the front desk was extremely rude and acted as if she were very important, even though she was just a desk worker, not the manager. I was in hell.

The place needs major care. It smelled awful and was filthy, with a disgusting pool and a scum ring plus strange spots in the bathroom. The room felt damp and had a strong chemical odor, and the curtain wouldn't stay closed. The front entrance looked as though it hadn't been cleaned, painted, or maintained in years. The website makes the hotel, its surroundings, and amenities look glorious, but the real place hardly lives up to that.
