Courtyard Beaumont

The bed was comfortable, and the receptionist was courteous. Still, this was easily the worst of the eight Marriotts we've stayed at over the last two weeks. The first seven were great, 5 of 5, and this one deserves 0 of 5. Our sink only had hot water, but the shower had no hot water. The place was noisy, and the toilet stopper wouldn't seat, so water dripped and the toilet refilled every 15 minutes. I-10 sounded like it was 20 yards from the hotel. If you do stay, ask for a room on the back side. The elevator wasn't working, the walls need paint, the furniture looks clawed up by a cat, and the carpet needs replacing. The room also smelled musty.

The bathroom was clean, and there were no bugs on the floor. We found the room spacious and the location convenient for our trip between Texas and Louisiana, but there was a lot left to be desired, as previous reviewers have said. The TV turned on, but we couldn't get any channel to work. Good value for one night, but I wouldn't stay longer.

The room looked nicely decorated and had a big balcony, but the bathroom seemed dirty and in need of renovation. There was no hot water at all, and the elevator was a struggle: we had to press the close button three times before the doors shut. Construction also made it awkward to reach the hotel, which otherwise would have been a great spot right off the highway. Unfortunately, I wouldn't stay here again.

We couldn't wait to leave. The room smelled of mildew, the carpet was wet, and the bathroom had just one toilet paper roll, already three-quarters gone. When we asked for more the next day, it took 45 minutes at the front desk. The pool and ice machine were out of service, there was no breakfast or food as advertised, and the bar was closed. The common areas, including the elevator, were shabby and filthy, despite the online claim that the hotel was newly renovated. Nothing was as described. Beaumont is a dump, but this hotel was worse. Getting into a room was a hassle from the start. It took three different keys. The first repeatedly failed, and when the front desk employee came up to check the door, she asked a maintenance man to help. He came out of a hotel room in street clothes carrying a beer. The employee stayed on her phone with a friend the entire time, asking them to hold on while she seemed to brush us off. The original room door appeared stuck, so she gave us a key to another room. That key failed too. Each time we had to go downstairs for another key while the rest of the family waited awkwardly in the filthy hallway. The front desk staff were awful to deal with and seemed not to care. I can't believe this hotel carries the Mariott brand. We're requesting a full refund for this nightmarish stay.
