Holiday Inn Beaumont East - Medical Ctr Area by IHG

When we checked in around 9:30 PM, they told us the hot water was out but would be fixed shortly. By 8 the next morning, it still wasn't working. I also saw two roaches dart away when I turned on the bathroom light. Breakfast was included in our reservation, but in the morning we were told they had run out of vouchers. The front desk agent did manage to get us seated, though some menu items were missing. The staff came across as very casual and somewhat careless. I wouldn't stay here even at half the price.

The bed was nice, the bathroom was good, and the AC worked well. The bathroom could use a vent, but that's true of hotels in general. Some hallways smelled like mold or a locker room, and the wall chargers in a few rooms didn't work well at all. The employees were good and kind.

We really enjoyed our stay, and the workers deserve a raise. My family and I were here for my uncle's funeral after our original reservation at the Comfort Inn in Port Arthur fell through. As soon as you walked through the door there, the mold smell was overwhelming. The receptionist at this hotel, whose name I forgot, was an angel and made checking us all in easy. I vented my problems to her, and she helped us tremendously. The bartender was amazing too. To the receptionist I spoke with when I arrived, please reach out if you can. I have a gift for you. Thank you for being so wonderful while we were going through a hard time.

The front desk was very helpful, and breakfast was hot, quick, and really enjoyable. They play soft music in the lobby. The hotel looks recently updated, and both the sixth and third floor main hall carpets were clean. My room felt fresh and was very clean. It's a little HI gem. I'll be back.
