Holiday Inn Express Beaumont NW Parkdale Mall

The common areas were lovely, and the hotel was clean and attractive. Housekeeping seemed to work hard, and the customer service was so good that I felt looked after despite the other shortcomings. A couple of small things dragged down my rating: the shower in room 133 was very weak, and there was no change for the laundry room. Some bathroom maintenance also needs attention. I can’t quite give it five stars, but I’d come back and recommend it.

I have a one-year-old and a five-year-old, and after seven hours in the car we just wanted to relax. Instead, the tub had no stopper, the AC wasn’t working properly, and the laundry room light was out while the washer was broken. We also found a pair of dirty socks housekeeping had missed in the bathroom. Two of the three towel sets normally provided for a room this size were missing. I was frustrated when I went to the front desk, but they only said they’d make a note. We hadn’t even been checked in for an hour and I was already extremely disappointed. I’m not usually one to complain, but I wouldn’t recommend this hotel and won’t stay here again.

We finally tried a Holiday Inn Express after often passing it up because of the price. Woke up feeling refreshed, and the breakfast was a great surprise. Everything tasted good and got my day off to a nice start. We travel a lot and will definitely stay again.

The breakfast was a letdown. They called it an omelet, but it was really scrambled eggs shaped like one, with just a thin strip of cheese in the middle. Thank goodness there was yogurt or I’d have left hungry. The room wasn’t clean: there were hairs on the comforter, a mess in the toilet, and a dirty counter. The TV also wasn’t working right. For a Holiday Inn Express, it felt plain and dull, with no popcorn or welcome bag for rewards members. Customer service seems hit or miss these days. Very disappointing!
