For the price, I was happy with my stay and would come back. The room was clean and inexpensive, the bed was comfortable, and the AC kept it cool. The fridge worked and there was plenty of hot water. The front desk person was nice, too. The bathroom had an outdated fan, and maybe a heat lamp, that didn’t work, and the WiFi was very slow. It’s not the nicest place in Beaver, but the cost and quality made sense.

It was 1am, everywhere else was full, and I just needed to sleep. This place had a vacancy, and my room smelled clean as soon as I walked in. The floor was vacuumed, the beds were fluffy, and the pillows were perfect. Then I had one of the best showers I’ve ever had. 10/10, I’d stay again!

The room itself was clean and in decent shape, with recent carpeting, and someone did eventually come by to check me in after the office was closed when I arrived at 3:30 in the afternoon. But the bed sagged badly in the middle and had very little support. The bathroom was clean, yet hundreds of ants kept moving from the window around the sink and onto the floor. I don’t know what they were after. Breakfast was meant to start at 6am, but the office was still locked when I tried at 6:25, so I couldn’t even get coffee. The ice machine was marked out of order. I was using points, so I didn’t lose cash, but with some maintenance attention, this could be a nice place. The ants and ice machine were a shame.

We booked after checking that the website called the hotel pet-friendly, and we told them by phone that we were bringing our small dog. After checking in, we left with the dog for about three hours. When we came back, a staff member said I couldn’t go to our room. I didn’t understand and went there anyway, only to find our things gone. At the front desk, we learned they’d put everything in trash bags in a back closet. They said room service had seen the dog bowl and that our room wasn’t pet-friendly. I showed them the website didn’t say only certain rooms allowed pets, and reminded them we’d mentioned the dog when booking. They charged us an extra fee. All the other pet-friendly hotels were booked because of local tournaments, so we had nowhere else to go. They said other rooms were pet-friendly and showed them to us. They were awful: the smoke detector looked burnt, with wires sticking out, the mattresses were aged and yellow, buttons were missing from the phone, and there was toilet paper in the bowl. After we left, I found another $25 charge on top of the fee. I’m guessing it was because I had a heated argument with the woman over the poor conditions and their failure to update the website or add a note to our booking after we specifically clarified we’d bring a pet. I’ve tried to get the money back, but they keep shutting me down.
