The guy at check-in was friendly, and the location is convenient for the interstate and places to eat. If the rooms had been cleaned, it would have been a good stay, but both rooms we had were in the same state. One desk was sticky, shoes stuck to the bathroom floor, a razor cover was behind the bathroom door, and there was a dirty pair of shorts on top of the wardrobe. The other room’s bathroom hadn’t been cleaned either, and the toilet was dirty. Someone needs to check that rooms are in top condition before they’re made available, and make sure the maids are doing a thorough job.

I’ve never been treated so badly by hotel staff. After a 12-hour drive, we didn’t want to pack up and hunt for another place in the dark, so we stayed, which was our mistake. The room also wasn’t clean, and the next morning I had a stale, lousy breakfast while the maintenance guy glared at us. He’d come to deal with the thermostat, a humming mini fridge, and some other broken items. Instead of helping, he had a poor attitude and told me to get my money back at the desk and leave. I later saw him talking with the manager, then went to explain what had happened. Before I could finish, the manager said she’d already heard about our night and that I would NOT get my money back. The lack of cleanliness and the way we were treated were both awful. Don’t stay at this disgusting monstrosity.

It’s an older place, but otherwise decent: the breakfast was nice and hot, the staff friendly, and the location good. I’d gladly return if I could be sure of getting a first-floor room. We were in the basement, down a long, steep, dimly lit stairwell with no elevator and a bad smell. The emergency exit was locked, too. I’d run away fast if I had to stay down there again. We booked online and couldn’t get a refund, so definitely avoid booking through a third-party service.

We stopped here overnight on our way from VA to KY. The only other option was a smoking room at the Travel Lodge, so we picked Econolodge. I’ve never stayed somewhere this dirty. It looked like only the sheets and a few towels had been changed: stuff on the carpet, a filthy fridge, hair all over the bathroom floor, a ring of filth in the toilet, soapy water spots on the sink faucet, a used bar of soap in the shower, and a half-used shampoo sample on the sink. There was barely any toilet paper and no spare roll. When I went to the desk for more, the guy was really rude. The room cost about $134, far too much for this. I kept my shoes on until I got into bed. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you have no other choice.
