Smart Extended Stay

I stayed for three weeks while waiting for my house purchase to close, and for $50 a day I was glad with what I got. As a former property manager, I think guests' expectations could stand to be adjusted to reality at these prices. The room wasn’t spotless, there was no mattress topper, and the ventilation was poor at best. I expected worse, honestly.

The beds were incredibly uncomfortable. And the smell was really distinctive, like three different air fresheners had been used to cover up smoke in the building.

Beckley, West Virginia’s SMART EXTENDED STAY HOTEL was awesome. The room was clean, management was great, and the front desk and maintenance staff were terrific!

The location is convenient, with restaurants across the road and around the area, and it’s easy to get in and out. There was no breakfast, pets aren’t allowed, and my TV had no remote. The rooms were dated and could have been cleaner. Even the mass requirement signs were still up in the hallway, something that would take two seconds to remove. I understand remodeling costs money, but those signs made the place feel outdated too. I’d stay here if I needed to save money and just wanted somewhere to sleep. If you can afford a better place and want a more up-to-date room, I’d look elsewhere.
