Travelodge by Wyndham Beckley

This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels, and this place made me feel worse than any of them. The room didn’t seem hygienic, and the bedding looked unwashed, with hairs and dirty marks on it. There wasn’t a single towel, and the room made me feel uncomfortable, like there might be roaches or bugs on the bed. The stairs were shaking and felt as if they might collapse. The room wasn’t worth what I paid. I’ve had excellent hotels in other states for the same amount. I can’t recommend staying here and would tell people to avoid it. Even though I checked out within five minutes, I couldn’t get a refund.

The place was awful. I checked in at 4 a.m., went into the room, and pulled back the sheets to find it hadn’t been cleaned at all. They moved me, but the door in the next room wouldn’t lock or even shut properly. They refused to refund me for the short time in that room, even though they knew the door didn’t lock. The staff were rude, and when we asked for the corporate number to report it, they acted cute and gave us the front desk number again. This place should be torn down. I’d give it no stars if I could.

I was heading south and needed a cheap room for one night, on Nov 24/25. It was $60, clean, and worked for me. The place is dated and worn, but check-in was easy and I felt secure. In the morning I got on my way without trouble. It’s centrally located off the interstate, near plenty of restaurants, gas stations, and stores. If they renovate, the rate probably won’t stay at $60, so it serves its purpose.

After a long day on the road, I got in around 7 p.m. ready to sleep, then get back to it. The room hadn’t been cleaned: belongings from previous guests were still there, and the bathtub had hair and suds left by whoever used it last. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in, and I travel full-time for work.
