Days Inn by Wyndham Bedford

The total was $65.10 with taxes and fees through my Wyndham Reward account. The night clerk was kind enough to let me wait inside the lobby in freezing, windy weather, around 0°C, so I’m giving service five stars instead of four. Getting there while heading west out of Bedford was awkward, and the lot was poorly lit. I scraped the underside of my car, then got a tire caught in a nasty pit beneath a pull-in area. There was no warning sign, and since I checked in around 0300, I couldn’t tell how much damage I’d done. The room itself was clean and smelled fine. I checked it with a black light and saw no stains, and the towels smelled of bleach residue, which seemed reassuring.

I’m working on a project nearby, so I’ve been coming back almost every week. Miss Rachael at the office and the other women always greet me happily, and they go out of their way for guests. The overnight maintenance guy is accommodating and stays on top of things. It’s a nice place with clean rooms, great staff, and very reasonable prices.

If fewer than one star were an option, I’d choose it. I’ve paid for rooms here for the past month and have probably spent close to $500. Now the owner has my two-year-old sitting outside in the rain because he won’t let the child’s father get a room. The reason given was that my child was “walking around the hotel,” even though he had a room there. Why shouldn’t he be allowed to walk around?

I was there four nights for a business trip, and I won’t book this place again or recommend it to anyone. The pet-friendly room I got was filthy, with fur and hair still in the bed, a horrible almost moldy smell, and several bugs. They also never returned my $50 room security deposit after checkout.
