I booked a single room as a cheap place to sleep, but once I settled in, I kept finding reasons to relax there in my free time. It was spacious and comfortable. The mattress wasn't anything fancy, but it was fine. There was a recliner, queen bed, full dresser, TV, table/desk with two rolling chairs, full-size fridge and freezer, two-burner electric stove, and a microwave, plus shelves for food and other stuff. I ordered takeout twice and cooked the rest of the time. The front desk lends out cookware and utensils, which saved me a lot of money, probably at least $200 on orders and tips. And getting to cook a steak just the way I like it while away from home was a nice surprise. The bathroom was another one. It was spotless, with lovely decor, no dingy yellow tiles or obvious patch jobs. The room was inexpensive, but the rooms and bathrooms were better than I expected. The towels were fluffy and comfortable, crisp white, and there were three washcloths, one floor towel, two hand towels, and two big body towels. I almost felt bad using them. There's continental breakfast too, though that's a generous name for individually wrapped snacks set out for guests. It wasn't much of a traditional breakfast, but everything was fresh and arranged thoughtfully. I stopped by every morning for a little food and coffee. The parking areas are well lit, and there's a laundry room, though I haven't checked it out yet. If I come back, I'll update this review. For anyone looking for a budget room, Extended Stay America is a great option. Nice rooms, clean laundry, a comfortable bed, a convenient location, and a good price.
I didn't know exactly when I'd be leaving, but Kara made check-in and checkout easy and smooth. Her kindness and flexibility took a lot of stress out of the stay. It was decent overall, although the bedsheet and cover could've been cleaner.
The room could use a little improvement, especially the size and the bedsheet. The front desk team, though, made things easy. They were friendly, available, and quick to answer questions. Carmella clearly explained the room choices and made check-in simple. Pawan was also very responsive, and GM Bre was approachable and helpful. Carmella deserves stars for the support. It was a welcoming, professional front desk experience.
I was backing into one of their narrow driveways in my electric car when a manager or employee came over waving me down. I rolled down the window and she shouted that I couldn't reverse in. When I asked why, she rudely said it was their policy, like she was a cop. I asked again, and she said fumes go into the room windows. I looked around the lot and saw nearly every car parked in reverse. Then I followed her “policy” and noticed there wasn't a single sign saying not to back in. Put up signs and enforce the rule consistently instead of yelling at one customer while letting others do it. If exhaust is the concern, focus on combustion engine cars parked that way, not electric cars or one-off arguments. Make the driveways wider, and don't put lower rooms so close to engine exhaust. Stop being rude to customers.
The vending machine is the one downside. Four dollars for a snack is a lot when Dollar Tree is just half a mile away. Bre is always great and knows her stuff. The place feels safe, and the Wi-Fi actually works. It sometimes goes down around 2 AM for updates or something. Usually I get about 90 Mbps download and 40 Mbps upload, though it's been terribly slow for maybe a day or two. The rooms are nicer than at some other locations in the chain.
