Loya's Little House Bed & Breakfast

We rented the whole house at Loya's for our early June 2019 wedding weekend, with 50 people for the ceremony and reception. Everything came together as we'd hoped. The beautiful, comfortable house and gardens worked well for a small to medium wedding, and the rooms were clean, thoughtfully arranged, and comfortable. Dean and Denise were responsive, accommodating, and incredibly helpful throughout. I'd happily plan another large party there. With lovely weather, we had the ceremony in the front garden, drinks and appetizers on the front patio, and dinner at tables under the trees on the front lawn. We also fit 25 people inside for the rehearsal dinner. Guests with reduced mobility had no accessibility problems. Everyone enjoyed walking through the gardens, watching birds, and gathering around the fire. A good friend who caters in Canada prepared both dinners with us. The kitchen was spacious and pleasant to work in, with lots of storage, and it was well stocked and clearly labeled. It's not a catering kitchen, so we brought in a cooler, but otherwise it worked easily. It was also nice to have tasty breakfasts made for us in the mornings, giving us a break from cooking.

Our families stayed overnight at Loya's B&B for our late October 2021 wedding, which made the celebration both convenient and fun. We used the conference and outdoor area for cocktail hour, then had dinner inside. There were several outdoor ceremony options and a Plan B in case of rain, though we were lucky to have a perfect day. The B&B team helped us picture the whole evening and made everything easy. Our out-of-state guests were so impressed that they're already talking about renting the whole place for future family events. The next morning, Loya's made us the best breakfast.

Whenever we come to Ames, we stay at Loya’s. The breakfasts are great, with locally sourced food, and the B&B is clean, comfortable, and beautifully furnished inside. The grounds are lovely too. The owners have created excellent bird habitat, so bird-watchers can see many species during migration. Unreservedly recommended.

A gorgeous little getaway with breakfast and wonderful owners. They give you privacy and space, but seem to know when you need them and step in. The grounds are lush with flowers and plants, and there's a tumbling stream and bird feeders that bring in a variety of birds. There's a horse out back and a friendly cat wandering around. Highly recommend.
