Red Lion Hotel Bellevue

We booked one night through Priceline and arrived at 5 p.m. Around 6, I left my adult daughter napping while the rest of us went out for food. When we got back, she was asleep and there were bed bugs in the blanket by her face. We took one straight to the counter and said we were leaving, but they wouldn't refund us. I was charged over $200 for a couple of hours and a horrible experience. I included pictures of the bed bug on the room counter and the card they gave me to contact the manager. I also asked ChatGPT what it was, though I already knew.

Din Tai Fung nearby was a bright spot, the food was amazing and the service excellent. The hotel itself was a miserable stay, and I wouldn't return. The room smelled strongly of mold, the carpet by the bathroom was wet, and I started itching while I slept, probably because of the sheets. The front desk was unhelpful and seemed to say no to every request. They wouldn't show us a room before we booked, saying nobody was available, yet after we paid we saw several staff around. We tried to tell the manager about the room, but were told the manager wasn't available. The place felt poorly maintained and unhygienic, with terrible service, and wasn't worth the money.

They charge $16.50 a day for parking, but don't make that clear upfront. The hotel is right by the freeway, which makes getting on and off easy, though the noise is really loud. You have to request room service in advance. We only wanted the trash emptied, so we left it in the hall before 9 a.m. It was emptied, but they didn't replace the liners. The hallway was dirty, and an old leak had been patched in a pretty half-hearted way. It feels like they're making money here without putting any back into the property. For that price, I wouldn't recommend it at all.

The breakfast is mostly packaged grab-and-go stuff, like granola, yogurt, boxed milk, and frozen sausage biscuits. The hotel feels like an old roadside motel, with dim hallways, a musty damp smell, and carpets in both the halls and rooms that need cleaning. I wouldn't want to take my shoes off. Don't try to check in even a minute before 4 p.m., or the front desk staff will make you feel bad about it. The website photos are misleading. I wouldn't come back or recommend it.
