Four Points By Sheraton Bellingham H & Conference

The room had a few small issues: no tissues, and the shower floor looked stained. I’d asked for housekeeping at check-in, but nobody came, so I wish they hadn’t asked if it wasn’t going to happen. The main problem was the water. Even with the faucet turned all the way, it only got lukewarm, which was a letdown in Bellingham in January. When I mentioned it, the front desk said some people think the water is too hot and that it’s a matter of opinion. This place feels like it’s gone downhill since my last stay. Pretty mediocre overall.

The pool smell was really strong, even up on the fourth floor, and the water looked brown, so I wouldn’t want to swim in it. Our two rooms had different temperature problems: the one by the pool wall was too hot, while the outside room was okay but had a loud in-room unit. I’d bring earplugs. The room itself was nice and clean.

When flooding forced us out of our home, the staff let us stay with our pets at a special discounted rate. As information kept changing, we stayed past checkout so we could be sure it was safe to go home, and they didn’t charge us for the extra night. We’re grateful for their hospitality and for looking out for the community.

The hotel has a lot going for it: the indoor pool is heated, there’s a sauna, and the rooftop garden was a peaceful place to unwind. The onsite restaurants were better than I expected, and the staff treated us so well. Our room felt comfortable and stylish, with blackout curtains and a fridge. Breakfast was made to order, delicious, and free. It’s also a handy base for Bellingham, with downtown and parks nearby, Costco about five miles away, and the Canadian border roughly a 40-minute drive. There are spacious meeting areas too. I was really happy with the cozy but upscale feel and the attention from the staff. I’d recommend staying here.
